I love ballet so much, growing up it was my favorite style of dance. I resonated so much to this!

Couldn’t agree more! I danced ballet from age 3 to 15 (and then branched out to other forms of dance in high school) and loved every minute of it. Like you, I thought of it as a passionate hobby rather than potential career, and I think that helped preserve the joy, grace and beauty of it.

Thank you for this! I also did ballet just for the hobby and it has gifted me so much! I have succeeded in other areas of life because of the discipline that ballet taught me. 😘

Thank you for sharing! I practiced ballet from the ages of 4-12, but unfortunately had to quit due to the academic load I was in. A whole decade later, I still reminisce on my ballet days. Ballet is such an incredible and eloquent art form. Loved reading this!

Ah, this was lovely to read. Thank you!

My grandma was my ballet teacher from the age of two and refused to teach gradings, which at the time, I was kind of sad about, always asking ‘what grade would I be now, nana?’. Now I know she was sheltering me from a world of judgement that she most likely endured herself. It makes me sad that I can’t say thank you now but I am so glad that, like you, I look back at ballet with so much joy 🩰 🪽
