Just a mini post this month as I haven’t had time to make a more detailed list, but didn’t want to abandon my monthly medias!♡
A reflection on this month
Having a monthly activity or ritual, like writing these posts each month, really does make you think about the passing of time.…
May is an underrated month. I pay more attention to the vibrant days pf June, July and August when I think of summer, but May is a soft and sun-kissed month that brings many of the joys that the summer months do. My camera roll becomes full of cherry blossom branches against a blue sky, because I can’t walk past one without stopping and admiring. Green spaces fill up with people as we flock to catch the sun on our skin. Jumpers are swapped out for cardigans and my crocs make their first public appearance in months. School, university, and work life remains busy, but it’s all so much more enjoyable with the backdrop sunny days.
Since I have lots of assignments and essays due this month, I haven’t had time to curate a book and film list. However, I have made a list of lots of smaller pieces of media that I’ve been enjoying recently, as well as some music and images to inspire your month.
May mini-playlist ❀
Nobody New by The Marías. They have such an ethereal, feminine sound and I love this new release
Nostalgia by Suki Waterhouse. I’ve been feeling nostalgic lately
Futile Devices by Sufjan Stevens. I think this song captures how the first hot days of the year feel.
Slow Burn by Infinity Song. A song to yearn in a sunny city to
Love is a Laserquest. “Do you still feel younger than you thought you would by now?”
Come What May from “Moulin Rouge”. Had to feature something with May in the title.
